Kaidan Storyteller: Komori

Komori began as a comedy theater performer during his student years, eventually finding his way into the world of ghost storytelling. Now known for his work under the name Bakeneko Kaidan-kai (The Ghost Cat Storytelling Group), he is active both online and on stage, hosting and performing at kaidan events across Japan.
Renowned nationwide as a finalist in various storytelling competitions, Komori is a master of traditional ghost tales. Don’t miss the chance to experience his refined and captivating style—true to the spirit of classic kaidan.
Talk Guest: Shiori Watanabe

Artist. Born in Tokyo in 1984, Watanabe completed her MFA at Tokyo University of the Arts in 2017. Since then, she has been creating works centered around Sunroom, a project that explores the political and narrative dimensions of ecosystems composed of diverse elements—such as fish, bacteria, inorganic materials, and plants—interconnected in cycles.
In recent years, her interest in ecological systems has expanded into the realm of traditional Japanese performing arts, particularly Noh, through which she continues to develop contemporary artworks that bridge ecology and culture.
Major solo exhibitions include Ohoyake / Filial 1 hybrid (Yu Haraa, 2025), Yado (Shiseido Gallery, 2024), and B L U E (SACS Shibuya, 2024).
Group exhibitions include Where Are We Landing (JWD Art Space, Bangkok, 2025), Disruptive Landscapes: Contemporary Art from Japan (Christchurch Art Gallery Te Puna o Waiwhetū, New Zealand, 2025), and 36th Bienal de São Paulo: INVOCATION #4: Tokyo (Sogetsu Hall, 2025).
